WHO’S COMING OVER?

The first-ever AnimeXplosion guests-of-honor roster is made up of some of the most prominent names in the Japanese Animation world.  All of them are people who have lent a certain aura, a special magic to some of the shows and manga held dear by Filipino fans.

 They are:

Yuu Watase
(Fushigi Yûgi, Ayashii no Ceres)

Ms. Yuu Watase was born in the city of Osaka in Southern Japan.  She made her debut back in 1989 with the shôjo comedy manga Pajama de Ojama (An Intrusion in Pajamas).  With a resume that, to date, includes seven anthologies and five serial compilations, she has developed a reputation for being one of Shogakukan Publications’ most prolific artist/writers.  Pioneer LDC has animated three of her works thus far: Magical Nan, Ayashii no Ceres (The Ominous Ceres, currently being aired on the Wowow Satellite Channel), and the extremely popular Sino-Japanese crossover series Fushigi Yûgi.  At present, Ms. Watase is working on a new schoolgirls’ story.
